Gammaked IVIg Infusion Therapy

WHAT iS GAMMAKED?

Gammaked is a biologic, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) drug used to treat primary immunodeficiency (PI) disease in patients 2 years of age and older, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) in adults and children, and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) in adults.

HOW DOES GAMMAKED WORK?

Gammaked provides PI patients with the antibodies their bodies need to fight infections. It helps raise platelet counts in ITP patients to prevent bleeding or to allow them to safely undergo surgery. For patients with CIDP, Gammaked improves neuromuscular disability and impairment and for maintenance therapy to prevent relapse.

HOW IS GAMMAKED ADMINISTERED?

Gammaked may be administered either intravenously (IV) or subcutaneously (subQ) for the treatment of PI. Gammaked IV infusions are given once every 3 or 4 weeks. Gammaked subQ injections are given once a week. Gammaked may only be administered intravenously for the treatment of ITP and CIDP. Intravenous infusions for ITP and CIDP patients are given once every 3 weeks. Doses depend on age and body weight.
