Bivigam IVIg Infusion Therapy

What is Bivigam?

Bivigam is a biologic, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) drug used to treat primary immunodeficiency (PI) disease

How does Bivigam work?

People with PI experience frequent and recurring infections because they lack healthy infection-fighting proteins in their blood called antibodies. Bivigam contains a highly-concentrated broad spectrum of immunoglobulin antibodies derived from healthy human blood, which helps PI patients fight off serious bacterial and viral infections.

How is Bivigam administered?

Bivigam is administered intravenously once every 3 to 4 weeks. If tolerated well during the first 10 minutes, the rate of infusion can be gradually increased every 20 minutes. Dosage depends on age and body weight.
